what was up w.that talk?omg,i was soooo bored that i ate two rolls of life savers and then did orgami w/the wrappers..whoa,if that wasnt some kinda mindcopulation than i dont know what is...then the watchtower with the 'millionaires are miserable depressed people'..sheeyit,like poor folks are not depressed???

Have they cut the length of the public talks yet? It was posted here they were going to reduce them to 30 min. from 45. Then there would be no time to add anything to make the talks interesting, just to get through the outline.
They were always boring, except for the few that were really good speakers. I don't go anymore, but I remember hearing the same outlines over and over. I had to control myself not to give an audible sigh when they announced the name of the talk.

it seems that the virginia park and west grand blvd, congregations are to be disbanded.
The assembly halls are a bigger scam. They remodel them needlessly and the congregations have no choice but to pay the bills. It is not really a voluntary donation arrangement any more. They state how much a cong. owes at an assembly (always an unbelievable amount) and then charege each cong. for any "deficit" from the use of the assembly hall. How is that in any way "voluntary"?
They shut down a cong. locally and reassigned the people to halls where they had to drive 45 min. one way. To drive 1.5 hrs. 3-5 times a week is pretty expensive with the high price of gas. Many of those people were elderly and infirm, but that was not taken into consideration.

They sure depend on the ones that make this life run today, whether they think it is real or not. I always hated how they abdicated their responsibility to try and improve the current state of affairs. What would we do if everyone lived like that?
It's kinda how they use the blood banks, if the GB decides it's ok, but won't donate a drop of blood themselves. Pushing their form of delusion is not a true public service. I'm beginning to see them more and more as delusional and unable to live in the real world.
What are all the ones going to do that have no real retiremant? Depend on public services and charities? And hey, I thought I was never gonna die. Who's gonna help me prepare for and accept death?
The watchtower damage just keeps repeating itself, a cycle of broken promises. I see it in my grown kids eyes, so sure they have all the answers and their generation will be the chosen one to beat death itself. Nothing seems to get through, only an occassional glimmer of doubt that is quickly stored away where it never enters the consciousness of this "unreal world".
so... hubby and i have been getting into discussions with a lot of people lately about the wts.
i want so bad to know what to believe... i don't believe that the 'truth' is the one true religion anymore, but i don't know what to believe anymore when it comes to certain things... what happens to you after you die, etc.
so, i've been praying a lot (i still believe in god) asking him to direct me somewhere, just give me something to believe in.
If you want to believe in prayer, then keep asking for signs, only ask for very specific and unlikely occurances. If a general occurance is used as a sign from God, it is easy to find something that qualifies as an "answer".
You're not crazy. Maybe need to do some more research to decide what it right for you.
to me the most overplayed band on the radio, ever, is the eagles.. today i bought their new cd.. its nice, i like it.
it brings back an old comfortable feeling from long ago, but it is new and fresh.. waiting in the weeds written by don henley ( a few of the lyrics from this song).
it's comin' on the end of august, another summer's promise amost gone.
I saw them a few years ago on their last tour. They were great! I was wondering if the new CD would be worthwhile. I read a review that said they intentionally wrote it in the mode of the 70's, that attracted me. Thanks Purps for the heads up on the CD. I'll have to pick it up.
why care about spiritual things?
i see most of all of you speak in different opinions of what is or may be true spiritual things (while a few ar just freezing cold or dead spiritualy), but i ask all of you, why even bother to care or pretend to care of spiritual things?.

Spirituality is what is often missing in organized religious experiences. It is about your connection with the divine (not a petty god), what connects all living things. I feel it much more in nature than I ever could in some brightly lit building where all I feel is a disconnect. I do believe in a creator, but not something or someone we can really define.
You need to look inside yourself and closely at the wonders of life, the things that stir your feelings of spirituality. It is much closer than you think.
i see many long-time posters and newbies getting offended at suggestions for .
some here to use deception with their family members or friends (or even the cong.. hounders).
i tend to be very honest with my wife, but i am withholding information.

If you want to be so openly honest and not deceive anyone, why is it that you have not posted your picture for your avatar and your real name instead of AGuest? Could it be you are not following your own advice? Oops, nothing posted under your biography either. What or who are you hiding from? Are you afraid of the possible ramifications, as are so many else here? Don't you want to accept that persecution you speak of with open arms?
Seems hypocritical to insinuate others are hypocrites while you hide and remain anonymous, instead of standing up and taking the consequences, as you so heartily encourage, while posting here.

How misled these people are. They state in the article that they didn't think women died in childbirth in this modern age. That is because the jws act as if there is always an alternative. There is no alternative to massive blood loss. You either replace the blood or you die. It is not that uncommen for a woman to hemmorhage after childbirth, unlikely, but it does happen.
So sad to see needless loss of life and two children who will never know their mother.

i left because there was a lack of true love towards me.
I just plain didn't believe it anymore. So many of their teachings became so transparently false to me that I couldn't teach them to someone else. Neither could I, in good conscience, support an organization that hid pedophiles, encouraged their members to commit suicide for their "god", and broke up families for life over nonsense.
